Pickens High School
10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
10th -12th grade Girls Basketball
Why this is different:
It costs less. Participants pay $40. Typical exposure and showcase events cost around $95 or more for a single day. We are not trying to make money. We just need to cover our costs. Spectators will be charged $5 at the gate. There will be no vendors, no recruiting services, no fluff.
It’s FREE for college recruiters. Exposure organizers charge big bucks for colleges to attend their events and we hear that the college programs are simply weary of it. They want to see quality players in small group, competitive environments without having to drop $300-$500 for player bios.
It’s concise. 4 hours is plenty of time for both players and recruiters.
It’s for DII, DIII, and NAIA level talent, which is where many of our best players will have the most opportunities.
It’s organized by high school coaches. Participants will be taken through warm-ups, skill work, competitive drill work, 3 v 3, and some 5 v 5. Players will have multiple formats to not only get warm for the session and compete, but also to reveal different skills.
It’s honest. We will be upfront about which schools say they are committed to coming and those that have expressed interest in coming. We also aren’t trying to steal or influence anyone’s players. We just want to create something grass roots that will get players with adequate talent and real hopes in front of real colleges with interest.
It’s good timing. We purposely chose Oct 12. It’s the last weekend of the contact period for college recruiting and it’s a good spring board for high school ball which will start a week later.
It’s fun. Players interested in playing at the next level have fun competing and playing basketball. It’s fun to play against other talented players. There is always something to learn.
