Head Coach: Brandon Thomas

Brandon Thomas has coached girls and boys basketball for 22 seasons. He served as an assistant coach at Pickens High School from 2005-2011 before leaving to take his first head coaching position at Winder-Barrow High School. During 6 seasons in Winder, Coach Thomas was able to lead the Lady Doggs to a birth in the 6-A State Championship game and their first region title since 1967. He returned to Pickens as the head coach in 2017. Coach Thomas emphasizes a family approach to the basketball program from the ground up and is determined to continue the rich tradition of girls basketball in Pickens County. Jv Coach / Varsity Assistant: Jordan Shaw:

Coach Jordan Shaw joins the Nettes staff after two seasons helping the Dragons program. He and his wife Kadie are both accomplished Pickens athletes and now Jordan is proving himself to be a top notch coach as well. We are fortunate to have him. Coach Shaw also coaches as part of the Dragon Football program.

Assistant Coach: Torie Williams

Torie Williams, a former Dragonette, has joined the HS Staff this season as an assistant coach. Torie played at PHS from 2015-2019. She signed and played for Reinhardt University the last three seasons and will now be on the sidelines of Roy Cowart Court. Torie brings experience and energy to the staff and our girls will benefit from her addition. Welcome to coaching, Torie.

Jr. High (7th & 8th) Head Coach: Brad Steinhauer

Brad Steinhauer is entering his 5th season as the girls basketball coach at Pickens Junior High School. Previously he was the varsity boys basketball coach at Pickens High School for the past eleven years. He also spent 6 years as the assistant men’s basketball coach at Berry College before coming to Pickens County. Coach Steinhauer and his wife Eileen are are raising two daughters, Emery and Ellison, both active in HS athletics at PHS.

Jr. High Assistant Coach (7th & 8th) Kristin Deering

Kristin Deering is an experienced teacher and is participates in coaching several teams including Cross Country, Soccer, and Basketball. Kristin's husband Seth Deering is part of the Pickens Coaching Family as an assistant on the PHS FB staff and is the Head Golf Coach. We look forward to her Coach Deering;s continued support of the our female student athletes at PJHS this season.

Jr. High Assistant Coach (7th & 8th) Lindsey Farmer

Lindsey Farmer is a former Dragonette from the 2006-2010 era. She has been working in the Gilmer County School System of late. Lindsey traded purple for green and is coming back home as a PE teacher at JMS. Coach Farmer will assist in both basketball at volleyball at PJHS. We are glad to have Lindsey back in the county and look forward to her positive impact on the Dragonettes. She is pictured with husband Jonathan, son Deacon, and daughter Deana Jo.
